A dataflow with this name already exists.

A dataflow with this name already exists. when we try to save data flow in service in premium capacity

For me the issue was becauase of a dataflow that doesnt had a name existed in the workspace. Check if there is any dataflows in your workspace with a blank name. Just delete that from the workspace and everything will work fine

I have encountered same issue today. Doesn't matter whatever unique names I type, it gives me the same error message.

The issue is still exisiting even if we give  different name to the new data flow. Anybody got a solution for this?

Hi @SivinSidharthan  and @pradeepbhatt ,

 

The only way to KNOW if the dataflow name exists or not is to go to the Admin Portal, look at the list of Workspaces and find that name.  

 

For the "saving as different name" I am not quite sure how you are doing that?  If you get the error message, you should be able to change what is typed in the box and then it uses that name.  Is this what is happening?

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue where despite whatever name I enter for dataflow it always shows the same error of 'A dataflow with this name already exists' when I am sure there is no other dataflow with that name in my workspace.

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

You can not have two dataflows with the same name.  You will have to name the new one a different name or rename the first one.  Or, you can delete one of them (there may be some lag though on a deletion where the name isn't available for a time period).
