I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I setup a powerbiserver, and I created a dashboard. I want to upload the dashboard to the server. But I can't seem to find the part where I put in the server info. Someone has step by step to show me how to upload my pbix into the powerbiserver? I tried uploading the file directly to the server and it gave me an error of:
There was an error uploading your .pbix file. Verify that the file not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.
Hi,
I found the "Guy In A Cube" Power BI Youtube videos really helpful. There are a few specifically for Report Server they will talk you throught the steps to getting your PBIX uploaded to Report Server.
The people that present the videos are Microsoft staff.
Hope this helps.
Rob
Sounds to me like you are using the normal version of Power BI Desktop when you need to be using the Power BI Desktop RS version. If you have the RS version then you can publish to the Report Server otherwise you cannot. Each release of Power BI Report Server has a corresponding version of the Desktop that you must use. I believe the latest and greatest is October. Note, that does NOT mean that you can use the "normal" October version of Power BI Desktop, you must use the October version of Power BI Desktop RS.
