Hi,
I am having two servers with me one server is Windows Server 2008 R2 edition and it has sql server enterprise edition 2012. But in another server i have Windows Server 2012 standard but it has sql sever standard edition. Now according to the Power bi report server installation guide, we can install the report server on Windows 8 and higher version.
So i wanted to ask if i install the report server on Windows Server 2012 standard and use the license of sql server enterprise edition 2012 present in different location or rather i can say different server, will i be able to do that?
Please help me with this query
Hi @SuhitMange,
When you run the Power BI report server installation file on Windows Server 2012 standard, you can try free or developer version, also you can enter valid license key follow this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/find-product-key.
Not sure your mentioned sql server enterprise edition 2012 is a valid key, but you can follow above article to check if you can find in VLSC.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
