power bi report server and sql server
Hi,
Is it mandatory to have the power bi report server installed on the same machine where the SQL server was installed?

Hi,
No, you can have the PowerbiRS installed in a different machine than the SQL Engine.
In fact, it is more convenient as you can have the Report Server database backed up at the same time you do with your data.
In case that you have problems with the Report Server (mainly via version updates or similar) you can always format or substitute your RS machine and be online in a few hours...
