odata Credentials - Couldn't connect - Log on Failed

Good Afternoon,

We started to encounter an issue regarding Odata feed.

It seems that also other users are encountering this issue.

Solved: Re: OData issue using Power BI API - Microsoft Power BI Community (the solving does not seem to apply for us)

odata Credentials - Couldn't connect - Log on Fail... - Microsoft Power BI Community (the conclusion of this thread is "Must be a bug."

We tried everything that was mentioned in both of those threads.

The issue is (taking the description from the second thread):

"

I have a report where I connect to an odata feed to one of our applications hosted by the vendor.

When I connect to the odata feed from Power BI Desktop, I can connect and I can access the information and create reports.

When I publish the report to our internally hosted Power BI Report Server,

  • I go to the properties of the report
  • goto Data Sources
  • Go down to the Credentials and
  • Change the Authentication type to Basic Authentication
  • Enter the username and passowrd that I used for the report in Power BI Desktop
  • When I click Test Connection
  • I get a red x Couldn't Connect with the following message:

Couldn't connect

The report server couldn't connect to the data source using the information you entered. Make sure you've entered the connection string and any credentials correctly.

Hide error details

Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct.

"

The URL is something similar to:

http://<MyServer>/PBIReports/api/v2.0

Worth noting that the refreshing works as expected; meaning it is able to authenticate. It failed with other tested users (with admin rights)

Could you kindly have a look?

Thanks in advcance,

Benno
