Hi,
One of our client has moved their data to sql server online and has put a firewall on it so only whitelabled IP address are allowed to get access.
We are trying to get access to the data via the gateway but somehow its not working.
-Does the gateway uses a range of IP address when it requesting data from the sql server online, so no fix IP address one can whitelable it?
- Is it possible to get fix IP address of the gateway?
-Where can I find the IP address the gateway i using?
Are there other alternatives?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If your database is in the cloud then your first option should be to try without a gateway. The Power BI Service IP ranges are listed here:
Add Power BI URLs to allowlist - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
If you still want to use a gateway you can collect the external (!!!) IP addresses of your gateway cluster members via standard commands like "ipconfig". But this would also mean that you might expose your gateways to the Wild West Web - a distinctly bad idea, if I may say so. You will want to talk that through with your IT Security team.
