Why ExecutionLog2 contains multiple entries for one report view

Hello all, I was wondering why Execution Log data contains multiple rows (around 5 rows) with different execution IDs and Time Start/End for what appears to be for one distinct report visit/view. The problem I am trying to solve is to get a report of who and how many times looked at a report. As of now, it appears like 5 entries are made when a user loads a report one time. I am hoping that in reality the data is not being pulled 5 times or any redundant processes are happening. Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps there is a better way to get report view stats. And perhaps when you load a report it goes through phases and that is why you get 5 or so entries.
