Unable to open any files on power bi report server

I am getting this error message:

"Sorry, you don't have permission to open this file.  Please choose a different file and try again."

I am the administrator.

This is on any file I try to open.  Also, I can't open from the portal either.  I get a different error message related to Server Unavailable.

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

I found a way around this issue.  Use the ip address of the report server, instead of the name.  Works for me, hopefully it works for you.

@pabeader

Can you open with right click and run as admin?

Do you mean you cannot open both report builder and web portal of report server? Please check if your account have the permission to access the database that both report builder and report server connected, e.g sql server db.

I'm not sure what you mean by "account have the permission to access the database that both report builder and report server"  I can download and upload and do everything else on the Report Server.  It's when I'm trying to use the Edit in Power BI option or Open from Power BI Report Server that I get error messages.

After some further testing.  It's only me that is having this issue.  Others are able to open and modify with no issues.

Tried deleting the entry in Web Credentials but that didn't help.

Most recent peice of information....

Shouldn't this be my name???Shouldn't this be my name???

You have to assign yourself along with others in Roles despite already being an admin for the server. The access to report folder would still need to be given to your id exclusively.

When did that change?  It worked one day and then didn't work the next.

Could you please have that checked ? I am referring to teh roles assignment on Reports/folders to ids. Please have it assigned for your id.

Is tnapowerBI teh account used to configure or as ExecutionAccount in configurator or as an Impersonate account in datasets?

Nothing can have changed on the Report Server, roles, IDs or whatever.   It worked fine at

10 AM and was messed up at 11:00 AM.  Not sure where tnapowerbi came from.  To the best of my knowledge, there is no account with that id.  I've pretty much given up and just download and upload.  It's just very annoying that it only is doing this to me.  Every other person is able to use it like they always have.

Still wondering if anybody has any new ideas.  If I login as my alter ego I can Edit file from the portal and I can open file from the server.  I just need to know where to go to correct this for my regular user.
