Unable to connect to database through Personal Gateway

Maybe i have not explained myself well. As our client's data has been stored in MySQL database with protection. Only IP address in their whitelist can be access the data. We don't have a static IP address in our local machine and we are using a VPN and added the IP address to our client database.
We can connect through VPN and refresh data in local PBIX file. When we set up the auto refreshing in Power BI service, it doesn't work if we connect directly. That's the reason we want to set up a personal gateway to access our client database.
