Unable to add a 'Group' under Security Role

Hi Folks,

I logged in as PBI Server Admin to the web portal . We had an Active Directory Security Group in the domain.

But when trying to assign the group (domin\groupname) to access a PBI Report, I am getting the following error

The user or group name 'domain\groupname' is not recognized. I even tried restarting the PBI Server but no luck.

Assigning the report to individual users is happening without any trouble.

Any kind of information is very much appreciated

I am having the same problem with my install of PBIRS.

I tried selecting role(s) first and then searching and I keep getting the same error.  I can add individual users from the group I am trying to add but that is not an ideal solution with over 50 individual users to manage.

I am having exactly the same issue.

The server hosting the on-Premise report server is part of the parent domain.

The group I am trying to assign is part of a trusted domain.

Would there be any log files on the report server \ IIS relating to the error thrown?

Hi,

First you have to select a role to attribute and then you write your AD group or users in the search box and it's work.
