Unable To Schedule A Refresh If One Or More Data Sources Are A File

I have two data sources in a report.

  1. File
  2. SQL

Since I have a File data source which can not schedule a refresh, the SQL data source is now also unable to schedule a refresh.

This is a clear bug as the SQL data sources should still be allowed to use a schedule.

Hi @Pie_Dev ,

You need to change the path, which must be to a network share to which the report server can connect.

Hi @Pie_Dev ,

In addition to the above list, there are specific scenarios with data sources in import mode, for which you cannot create refresh plans.

  • If a File or Folder data source is used and the file path is a local path (e.g. C:\Users\user\Documents), then a refresh plan cannot be created. The path must be a path the report server can connect to like a network share. For example, \myshare\Documents.

All that can be done now is to either change the path of the file or delete the file data source

So if I have multiple SQL data sources and one file data source. Then I can't refresh any of my data sources because of that single file data source?
That is a definitly a archeicture failure.
