Hi @Vizdeveloper

The Text Filter visual may not show search options in Google Chrome due to browser compatibility issues with Power BI Report Server. It works correctly in Microsoft Edge. No browser extension is required — switching to Edge or updating Chrome usually resolves the issue.

Hi @Vizdeveloper ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft fabric community form. And thank you @SreeniBattula  and @Poojara_D12  for your inputs. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, your input helps us improve the experience for everyone.

The issue with the Text Filter visual not displaying search and clear options in Google Chrome when accessing a Power BI Report Server report is typically due to browser compatibility. This visual tends to render correctly in Microsoft Edge, where all expected UI elements (search box, clear button) appear as intended.

There is no browser extension required to enable this functionality. In many cases, switching to Edge or ensuring Chrome is fully updated can resolve the issue. Some custom visuals may not render consistently across browsers, and Edge generally offers better compatibility with Power BI Report Server.

I hope this gives you an idea, if you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out.

If this post helps, then please give us Kudos and consider Accept it as a solution to help the other members find it more quickly.

Thankyou.

The above one is from report opened in chrome with text filter on first and last name.  Below is when it is opened in edge.

Please check which extensions are the cause:

  • Open Chrome in Incognito Mode (Ctrl+Shift+N), which disables most extensions by default.
  • Navigate to your Power BI report.

If the text search appears, an extension is likely causing the issue.
