Subscribe a report on last day of the month

Hello,

i am currently working on paginated reports, one the reports need to be shared with users on the last day of the month

as some months have 31 days some have 30 days,

can it done by creating a single subscribtion or should i create two seperate subscribtions one for months with 30 days and other for months with 31days.

Thanks and Regards

I found a workaround that is applicable for most of the world:

  • schedule the report to run on the first of every month at 12:45 am in timezone UTC+12

That way it will actually run in the last day of the previous month as long as your timezone is less that UTC+11.

This worked out great for us!  We are in CST so for us 9:30AM UTC+12 on the 1st converted to the last day of the month at 4:30PM.  😀

Hi @SSWADOOD ,

It seems that for now, Power Bi does not have the option of "last day of the month".

But there is an alternative that is a workaround: an option to run the subscription on the first day of the month that defaults the report to the previous month. To make this an option, you need: 1. the data parameters in the report and 2a. the report already defaults to last month or 2b. a SQL Server version that supports data-driven subscriptions to override the default parameters to last month.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

hi Henry thanks for the message, i will test this on the report.....

for now i had created 3 subscriptions

first one for 28 days of  Feb

second one for months with 30 days

third one for months with 31 days

i will probably shift to single subscription option via SSMS.

  1. on the 30th day of April, June, September & November
  2. on the 31st day of January, March, May, July, August, October & December
  3. on the 28th day of February

Not sure you want to create one more for leap year 😉

There are other ways like Power Automate, data driven
