Show comments when editing URL to lose PBI Server banner

Hi all,

Our consumers access PBI Dashboards via SharePoint and we edit the URL to strip out everything but the dashboard as we don't want them digging around the server via a crumbtrail or getting overwhelmed by options (refresh, etc.). Unfortunately we also lose the 'Comments', consequently we don't use the comments as an organisation, but I'm keen to embed a performance message narrative into the organisation. Is there a way to keep the dashboard and the comments or a SharePoint/PBI workaround?

Thanks for any help.

@Stuck1,

Could you please elaborate more about how you embed Power BI dashboard to SharePoint? Do you use on-premises SharePoint site or SharePoint online site? What changes do you make about the URL?

Regards,
Lydia

Hi Lydia,

We add to the end of the URL:

?rs:embed=true

In SharePoint we just set the hyperlink to launch a new tab. We use SharePoint 365. I can't recall if we can embed a frame/webpart to link to the PBI Server. I think we may have tested it and not pursued it. I know we did it with PBI Cloud and Tableau.

@Stuck1,

In this case, I don't think that you can show "Show comments" in embed report.

Lydia

Thanks for the confirmation. It looks like PBI Server can't be embedded in SharePoint 365 either. Smiley Sad
