Security and Critical updates in Power BI Report Server (on-premises)

Hi,

Could someone explain to me how Security and Critical updates are delivered to Power BI Report Server?
Are these security updates received automatically (similar as a Windows Update), or an admin needs to manually download and install them?

I read the documentation regarding Modern Lifecycle Policy in Power BI Report Server but it does not specify the details on how this Security Updates mechanism works.

Regarding your question, if you want to receive a critical update to Report Server, you need to ask your administrator to download the latest Report server version and then install it, at which point you will be prompted to update the current Report Server:
