SQL Server Express with PBI Report Server

Hi

I've been creating reports using Power BI, but migrated over to PBI Server because one of the key requirements for my project is the ability to automatically update what's in my SQL tables into Power BI to display through the reports. Of course, I've realised that Express doesn't have SQL agent and so it cannot schedule via the front end to do this as and when I require.

I don't have the budget to buy an Enterprise licence, and so I am desperate for any way in which to automatically or SQLCMD via Task Scheduler complete this process. Any ideas or suggestions would be of great help.

You don't need an Enterprise Edition of SQL Server to get SQL Agent. You should be fine using the Standard Edition which is significantly cheaper.
