Hi all
Using powerbi report server March 2018 I create users and reports, but when I move to report server I don't find a placer to MAP users to roles.
Regards
We did implement the RLS by ourselfs. Basically you will need a connection to your AD from where you can create different relationsships to other tables. Your report then needs a Measure where the username of the user gets populated. By passing this value to your AD table you can apply filters to other tables.
This would be a way how you could create your own RLS.
I just have a quick update on that one.
Microsoft announced at this years Ignite that Row Level Security will come in the November/December Release of Power BI Report Server
I believe that RLS is only a feature of the Service. I may be mistaken.
Unfortunately RLS is not a current feature of PBI RS. Chris recently replied that it won't be included in the upcoming July - August release. So we will have to keep waiting.
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
Check out the June 2025 Power BI update to learn about new features.
