Report with one page for each parameter value (Report Builder)

Hi,

I have been using Power BI for years but I am new to Power BI Report Builder and Paginated Reports. I built a table with the fields I want and include a parameter. When I run the report and choose the value for the parameter, I get back the table filtered by the parameter selected, but how can I get a report with multiples pages, one for each parameter value? for example if I use the invoice number as a parameter how can I print a report with all the invoices, one for each invoice number?

Thank you very much!!
Alfred

Hi, @AlfredQuick ,

Suppose you have ten order numbers, do you want the report to generate ten corresponding pages at the same time and print them all? Power BI Report Builder can't do this at present.

In general, you can only change the parameters manually and print them one by one, but here I provide two solutions for you.

One solution is export the whole table as csv or xlsx to a directory, and then using other tools, for example, using python to separate tables by parameter, and then print them all.

Another way is to change your report design (or create a new report base on the same dataset) to make it a print only version, for this, you can refer to this answer.

Best.

Hi @DavisBI,

I tried the print only version and it works great for what I need.

Thanks

Hi @DavisBI,

Thanks a lot for your response. Yeah I would like something like what you mention. In this case they are not orders but real state assets. I would like to have a report with summarized data of all the assets (that is simple) but I need also a report page with detailed data for each asset.

I thought report builder was the perfect tool for this. I will explore the second option you have mentioned (print only version). Can you please explain also the process to do with python in order to use your first option?

Any other tool that you guys think is better for this than Power BI Report Builder? I thought it was my best option 😞

Thank you very much!

@AlfredQuick This requires the cooperation of different tools, not just python, because it also requires the report server to use the file sharing system
