Report Server on-premise update to May 2024 version

Hello guys

I would like your help on a doubt I have to perform the update to May 2024 version of my Report server.

It is currently in the September 2023 version as I updated it last year without problems following Microsoft tutorial below

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/upgrade

The problem is, when I tried to update to the May 2024 version (the same happenned trying to update to January 2024 version) the option "Upgrade Power Bi Report Server" doesn't show, only the option "Install Power Bi Report Server" like it would be a fresh installation but I already have a instance installed.  I'm afraid of overwritten my current installation and lose some configurations even doing the backup of the keys as recommended.

I would like to know, is this the current way to perform on-premise update? Or do I need to do something before the update?

My OS is Windows Server 2016 Datacenter, running on a hypervisor with ESXi 6.7

Thank you!

Hi, @victor_rosa

I tried this status quo and when I finished installing the September 23 version and opened the May 24 installer and he showed the image below.

You may be able to check if you have a 23 Report Server on your computer. It's weird.

It's also possible that you previously installed SQL Server Reporting Services because their installation interface is very similar.

You can check it.

Dear

Thanks for the answer.

Yes I checked and the installer I used was for Power BI Report Server, not Reporting Services. Follow below how it shows to me

Just to make sure, follow below the evidence that I have a Report Server installed

For some reason it's not recognizing the installation I don't know why.
