Hello,
We have one single report that has data imported from two different servers each one from different VPNs.
We tried to create a gateway cluster and added gateways from the two VMs of each VPN.
However when we are selecting both gateway for respective datasource we are facing connectivity issues from secondary gateway instance.
Please let us know if there is any other workaround
In the past, to achieve this, we created one server for each VPN. Added an intermediate layer database to get the data from all sources. Finally, one gateway from this intermediate layer database to PBI cloud. Also this approach helps daily backups what is being pushed to PBI cloud.
We had luck with multiple gateways but has issues in combination of VPNs. so I came with this solution.
Note: what we did not try fully is to setup all VPN in the same server and try in different times to refresh.
@Anonymous - Hmm, that's an interesting one. Not sure if that is going to work too well. Might be a support case. You could check the Issues forum here:

And if it is not there, then you could post it.
If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
