Refresh fail due to DataSource error OData
Hi community -
I have a med-large report with a few various connections e.g., Sharepoint files, OData from Azure Devop. I'm all of the sudden getting this error message saying that my auto refreshes are failing. Any idea on how I might resolve this or what is causing the problem:
Hi Russo,
This error typically indicates that the remote server (Azure DevOps in this case) is terminating the connection unexpectedly. This is often a transient issue, but if it persists, it may require further investigation.
In your shoes, I gonna try:
- Retry the refresh manually in Power BI Service.
- Check the data source credentials in the dataset settings.
- Test the OData feed URL (https://analytics.dev.azure.com/...) in a browser or Power BI Desktop to confirm it's accessible.
- Review Azure DevOps API limits or recent changes in access policies.
- Contact Microsoft Support if the issue persists, especially if the error continues across multiple refresh attempts.
An extra advise:
Authentication or Token Expiry:
- Cause: If using organisational accounts or OAuth, tokens may expire or permissions may change.
- Action:
- Re-authenticate the OData connection in Power BI Service.
- Go to Settings > Datasets > Data source credentials and re-enter credentials.

I checked steps 1-4 and were already good. I did a manual refresh and refreshed my credentials which I had tried before but maybe attributed to the fixed this time.. Coicidentally, after ten days I am no longer getting the issue. If the issue comes back, my plan is to submit a ticket to Microsoft.
