Publishing Report to Workspace Creates Extra Dataset

I am publishing a report created in Power BI Desktop. The data source is a connection to a Power BI Dataset created via Lakehouse SQL Endpoint. However when I publish that new report, it publishes a new dataset with it. Is it possible to just publish the report since the dataset it is referencing is already published in the service? I now have to update two datasets instead of just one due to this.

Here is the flow of how it currently looks:

I want to keep the dataset with the green checkmark and remove the one with the red X, while keeping the report working.
