Problems login'in on the portal web

Hello,

I have a win 10 pro VM, with SQL Server 2019 installed, and i've finished installing the PBI Report Server.

I simply can't login on the web portal. I have a local user on this VM machine, lets say abcde, without password, and i can't simply login placing abcde on the user and then login in.

How can i solve this?

Thanks in Advance

You need to connect to the portal using the user that installed Power BI Report server, then click on the "Manage Folder" option in the top right and give the abcde user some permissions on the home folder (Browser will let that user see the folder and any reports in it). If you are using the default Windows authentication then the user should be able to get to the Portal.

Ok, i've created a password for the user and rebooted the VM and now it's working, so probably the solution was to reboot.

Worst case scenário, i also add to create a password for the user (?).

Regards

I've never had to reboot to enable access to PBIRS. But when you create a user windows creates a hash of the username and password, so it could be that having a blank password did something to that which caused issues identifying the user.
