Powerbi https not working on client machines but works on Server

Hello Team,

Have deployed PowerBI Report Server and installed https cert.

The https URL works fine within Server but outside it's not working.

Can you advise, Please.

You need to define what you mean by "not working". What exact behaviour are you seeing? What error messages are you getting?

Here is the error message. We already tried to reset IE settings but still same error.

Cannot securely connect to this page
This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try
contacting the website's owner.

1) can you ping the server from client? I assume yes

2) check whether the http works

3) Using Internet Explorer, check TLS 1.1, TLS1.0, TLS 1.2 is checked

4) On the server, check firewall settings allow the port (inbound and outbound)

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-server/configure-a-firewall-for-repor...

Additional check: See the out put and see anything wrong ...

netsh http show servicestate view=requestq verbose=no
netsh http show urlacl

We had tried these options but still same error. Will that be a certificate error.?

Please advise.

if you dont mind can you tell what is happening with 1) 2) from client to server ... works?

this helps to check: pinging server, network connectivity, server port settings in firewall and after that only application related connectivity or issues.

Say, that 1) and 2) works i.e., the report server works with http then it is more likely with https and config error. (Server firewall inbound and outbound, same port different app may be configured/ using ... last is the certificate error )

Check the eventvwr and log and it will give more details ... share those related ...

Certificate wrong will give different error. Say, in chrome, it will say somewhat like "Your connection is not private. ... NET::ER_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID ... "

Thanks

Hi,

The https stopped working completely now. Not sure what is conflicting.

Have deployed normal Server certificate. Is that correct.? or do we need any other certificates.
