Power bi
Hello,
i have developed few reports in power bi using datasource as Postgres .After publishing the reports to workspace i am encountering the below error
Data source connection failed
Unable to connect to the data source . Either the data source is inaccessible, a connection timeout occurred, or the data source credentials are invalid. Please verify the data source configuration on the and contact a data source administrator to troubleshoot this issue.
Hi panduranga,
It is perfectly fine to use Gateway with a pro license. As the issue is still not solved I would suggest these steps
Please re confirm that the data source configuration matches the one used in Power BI Desktop, including the database name, connection details, and authentication method. Properly aligning these settings ensures seamless connectivity between Power BI and the data source.
As mentioned if all troubleshooting efforts fail, consider removing and re-adding the Power BI Gateway. Start by uninstalling the gateway, then proceed with a fresh installation and configuration. After reinstalling, ensure that you re-add your data sources and credentials correctly to restore connectivity and resolve any persistent connection issues.

You most likely need to use a gateway once they are published. Here is one example for a PowerBI report with VNet Gateway. You can also search for Power BI Gateway and use that as well. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/postgresql-connector-for-the-virtual-network-data-gateway/

Hi panduranga,
Please verify the data source configuration settings
To verify the data source configuration in Power BI Service, start by navigating to Power BI Service and accessing Settings and then Manage Gateways. Ensure that the correct gateway is selected and that the data source credentials (username and password) are correctly entered. Additionally, confirm that the data source configuration matches the one used in Power BI Desktop, including the database name, connection details, and authentication method. Properly aligning these settings ensures seamless connectivity between Power BI and the data source.
Ensure that you've added one or more data sources correctly to the gateway, as described in Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
As a final step, if all troubleshooting efforts fail, consider removing and re-adding the Power BI Gateway. Start by uninstalling the gateway, then proceed with a fresh installation and configuration. After reinstalling, ensure that you re-add your data sources and credentials correctly to restore connectivity and resolve any persistent connection issues.
