Hi all,
We've had two situations this week, patches being applied with a required server reboot and the Power BI report service not starting.
It is set to automatically start yet doesn't without any real error information to work with to understand why.
I've first done searching on Google and here to see if I can find some obvious answers but have come up blank. Our IT team support the infra and OS layer so trying to find a solution.
Has anyone experienced this?
Is there another way to schedule PBI services to restart on reboot?
We're running the September 2019 verion of PBI on-prem server, though we had the issue prior to upgrading to this too.
I have not seen this but if you have the service set to Automatic, that should generally do the trick. You could check the Issues forum here:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
And if it is not there, then you could post it.
If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
