Have you come up with anything here...

I just adopted a version of the June release that was installed with the "evaluation" option. I too had hope d to backup the encryption key and move the solutions to a dev box with "Developer's Edition" and was faced with the backup key option being disabled in the Report Server Configuration Manager. I get where you want to disuade people from running prodution workloads on evaluation editions in perpituity, however, if you let them install Developer edition anyways, the only people you upset are the people that are trying to promote "Good Behaviour" - Please help us re-enable the Backup key...

I tried using this command to backup the key from the Command line...
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\Shared Tools\RSKeyMgmt.exe -e -f d:\safe\PBIRSKeys.snk -pSecur3Passw0rd!
and it camed back that I needed to have .NET Framework 3.5 (Includes 2.0/3.0) installed! Okay, maybe! I will do that and get back to this thread with an update.
Also wondering if I can change an ini file to change to Developer edition and then upgrade from June 2017 to March 2018 version?
