Power BI reading measures from the database in import mode?

Hello everyone!

I'm interested in finding out if it's possible to reuse already calculated (dynamic) measures in a data mart on a database that is defined on a semantic layer (for example, dbt). Is it possible to use such a scenario with the import function when direct query is not possible? It's somewhat similar to querying an SSAS tabular cube in live mode, but here we are discussing some column store databases from third-party vendors (where live direct query isn't possible).

I would like to avoid calculating measures in Power BI; therefore, the question.

As soon as you use import mode your foreign measures become static values.

So basically, without the live ingestion mode, precalculated measures on the database are useless?

LMFTFY: "precalculated measures are no longer measures"
