Hi community,
I would know how to connect power bi report server at Excelfile source and define scheduled refresh.
In a past, I have used analysis service.
At the moment i have two questions:
1. Is correct to set the details mode in the same path ( ... / Manage / Data sources) ?
2. Does the excel file have to be in a directory that is visible to the Power BI Report Server? If you have to do it at IT level (open the gateway) and the server where Power BI Report?
Thanks in advance for you support
Best regards,
Fabio

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "details mode", but you would use / Manage / Data sources to set the username/password to be used during the scheduled refresh.

Yes, it has to be in a location that the server can access. So you will find that drive mappings will not work eg s:\myfolder\myfile.xlsx and you will have to use a UNC path format eg. \\servername\sharename\myfolder\myfile.xlsx and you will need to configure it like this in PBI Desktop and then publish it up to Report Server, then set the credentials to use during the refresh.
