Hi Power BI Community -
We are facing an on going issue with Power BI reports hosted on Power BI Report Server.
Issue: When ever an user loads a Power BI report some of the widgets in the report fail to load with a "X" mark and if we expand the see details link below is the error message it shows in the UI.

When I dig into the logs I see the below error message.
/** 2019-03-14 13:55:38.7242|ERROR|144|Unhandled error in the Web API|POST http://xxxxx/powerbi/api/explore/reports/bee13f4d-7986-43c6-b072-8910422f080f/querydata - Response Unknown| RequestID = 5f2c5c25-3fd8-c638-6fde-74cfc1479623 ClientSessionID = ff88bfbc-6fd2-ef00-7412-9e4dfb188b94 Microsoft.PowerBI.ReportServer.AsServer.AsConnectionException: Failed to get connection string for model

The widgets will load if we refresh the page again. But the entire behaviour is random. Not able to identify the root cause. I was wondering if anyone out there are facing the similar issues and were able to resolve this one.
Below are some of the report & environment charcterstics:
1. Power BI report developed in imported mode.
2. Content Size - 0.26 MB
3. PBIRS is scaled out environment on two servers.
Any help would be really appreciated.
-Thanks,
We are using the same setup with direct query on prem and we get the same random errors. Does not anyone has come to a solution?
- Regards
J.R.
