I have Power BI Report Server configured on a server & everything was working fine.
I then installed SSRS 2016 & all was well except for the two issues below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: At this point, Power BI Report Server was not experiencing issue 2. Users in both domain forests were being added with out any problem.
In trying to resolve issue 1 for SSRS, i installed SQLServer 2016 SP2 and indeed that resolved issue 1 for SSRS.
PROBLEM: Updating SQLServer 2016 to SP2 now introduced issue 2 to Power BI Report Server. Now in Power BI Report Server, users in "DomanA" can no longer be added. Trying to add them now throws the error
"The user or group name "DomainA\username" is not recognized"
So, does any one have any idea why updating SSRS instance to SP2 could end up affecting the BI Report Server configuration. Are there any configurations being shared between the two products?
