Hi,
We have Power BI Report Server, may 2019, French version, SQL Server 2017 up to date (CU16).
We decide to install latest version : Framework .NET 4.8 and Power BI Report Server ( setup 15.0.1102.646, October 25 2019).
Multiple issues occurred with existing Power BI Reports with accents (é, ê...) in the name.
First issue: The record can not be download : the name is not correct and begin with "=_utf-8_B_dGFibGVhdSBkZSBib3JkIGTDqXRlcm1pbmF0aW9uIGdyb3VwZSBzYW5ndWluLnBiaXg=_=', without ".pbix" extension.
This issue does not occur with report without accent in the name.
Second issue : the datasource connexion string is empty. The source is Analysis Services.
The installation process work fine, no message on screen and in the log file.
Regards,
Denis
Hi,
The problem is not solved!
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Denis
Hi dpFr33,
We have added this to investigate for fixing for next release. If it is possible to not use the character(s) that cause the problem please do until we figure out what is going on.
If you have a support agreement, you can also contact support agent.
I use a PowerShell script to extract the pbix report from ReportServerPBI database. With this Powershell script, the report as the correct name, with accents.
When I open this file with Power BI Desktop RS (May 2019 and not September 2019), I can launch the report without any message regarding connection.
I unzip this file and look at the content for "Connections" file:
{"Version":1,"Connections":[{"Name":"EntityDataSource","ConnectionString":"Data Source=SRVBI;Initial Catalog=SSAS_TABULAR_006_PROD;Cube=Modèle","ConnectionType":"analysisServicesDatabaseLive"}]}
