Power BI Report Server - Power Bi Desktop and 3 Tier - Problem

Hi All,

 

I have a 3 tier (subnet architecture) where in the request from Client Tier to App Tier or Client to Data Tier is not allowed. I have number of users who can create/Self-service BI Reports. The problem is that these users have the Power Bi Desktop on their local machine within the CLient Tier and data source is in Data Tier, since direct connection is not allowed,  how to allow the users to create and publish the reports.

 

 

Looking for any optamised solution?

    Hi Anonymous ,

    Because of your networking settings, if the PBI Desktop couldn't get the data from the data source, it is impossible to create and publish report.

     

    Please contact your network administrator to do some settings in network or you could install the PBI Desktop in a machine that is hosted in App Tier, then allow your developer remote access this machine to develop report.
