I support the Power BI Report Server in our organization. I have a user who developed reports using a trial version of Power BI. We want to move her reports to the server but she cannot upload because of a version error. The report server runs on the May 2022 version. Is there a way to make the existing reports backwards compatible?

Hi, @crfallon
As described in the article shown by Super user, you need to open the PBIX file created by your new version with the corresponding version of Report server Desktop, and save it before you can upload it successfully.

Hi, @crfallon
When you open and save a report using Power BI desktop Standard, you do run into this issue when you upload it:
You should reopen your report with the RS flag desktop corresponding to your version of Report server and upload it to resolve the current issue.
During the opening process, you will encounter the following prompt, you can click close, and it will not affect your report.
The following tip is mainly to remind you that if you use some of the features in Power BI desktop, which are not available in the RS version, which will cause some unexpected situations, you can just click close.
Click Save:
Re-upload it:
