I am trying to create a report subscription against an RDL that I published to Power BI Report Server (On Premise).
The data source for the report is a SSAS tabular model. When I try add a New Report. I get an error saying:
Subscriptions can't be created or edited because the credentials to run the report are not stored, or if a linked report, the link is no Longer valid.
I have tried several solutions suggested on the inter-web to no avail. Am I missing something ? Has anyone had success if doing this ? If so please share with me and make my day, week etc. Thanks in Advance.
Yes, you'll need to edit the data source credential after publishing the report. Either to store you user/pass information in the server or enabled the unattended exeution account. When the server runs subscriptions against AS, it needs to have the identity of the user. See
Thanks. It did come down to errantly using an imbedded data source vs a shared data source. Although some nuances need to be addressed the articles you pointed to got me well on my way to overcoming my ignorance.
