Paginated Reports - Excel Export

G'Day Folks
First time in so apologies for possible repeat question. 
My users are addicted to Excel outputs, so working through details of exporting table data out through paginated report. 

Is there a way to configure the renderer to include border grid lines around the cells in Excel automically? 
I am getting this:

But hoping to get this automatically 

I appreciate there are numerous other ways of outputting to Excel, which might avoid this issue, but expectations have been set around paginated reports etc....
