Don't use synced slicers. Use the filter pane.

If I use this method, how will I retain the functionality of having filter choices persist between pages?

    The filter pane has three sections

     

    - filters on this visual

    - filters on this page

    - filters on all pages

     

    Put your filter column in the last section.
