POwer BI RS - Unable to deploy reports/manage previously deployed reports

Good morning all.

Spent the last few days going around in circles trying to fix an issue that seems to have appeared at work this last week or so.  We noticed that some of our power BI reports deployed to the report server are now not accessible.  You can't manage them in the application (Getting a "An error has occurred. Something went wrong. Please try again later." message), unable to delete.  Trying to deploy and looking in the logs and it's complaining about the file not being found ().

If I start on PBI RS App and try and open a report from the report server, I can navigate to the server and through the folders and see the files, but on selecting I get an error ("ERROR Unexpected Error Encountered").

RSPowerBI Log showing this issue:

2024-05-02 09:24:59.1772|FATAL|1|Could not start PBIXSystem.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Net.HttpListenerException: Access is denied

RSOffice Log showing this issue:

FATAL|1|Could not start OfficeSystem.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Net.HttpListenerException: Access is denied

RSHosting Service Showing this:

RSPortal Log when I tried to :

024-05-02 09:46:03.3433|INFO|1075|Received request GET /api/v2.0/CatalogItems(Path='XXX')| RequestID = s_698e533e-a4bb-4007-816c-a152be3a6ec0
2024-05-02 09:46:03.3589|ERROR|1075|OData exception occurred: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

Other things that are happening also are say trying to save a report to report server and getting file is too big when it's an empty pbix.

Hi  @idontknow_dave ,

The Reporting Services error rsAccessedDenied occurs when a user doesn't have permission to perform an action. For example, they don't have a role assignment that allows them to open a report, or they didn't open their browser with the required permissions.

Permission to access report server content and operations are granted through role assignments. On a new installation, only local administrators have access to a report server. To grant access to other users, a local administrator must create a role assignment that specifies a domain user or group account. The administrator must also create one or more roles that define the tasks the user can perform and a scope.

If you confirm that you have sufficient access, please provide more information.

Thanks for the reply, it's appreciated.

I don't have any issues with permissions on SSRS Pagnated reports, it's around the PBIRS Reports.  We ended up adding the service account to the machine admin to test and it allowed it to work but feel that this is a hammer to break a nut and a bit overkill as normally it wouldn't need this level of access is my understanding?

So no further on really so still looking for an answer.
