POWER BI REPORT SERVER ADMINISTRATION

Hi everyone!

Do you know how can I keep track of the changes that users make in the power bi report server? And how can I block the report so that nobody modifies it only when I am viewing it?

Thanks so much! 🙂

Esther.

@EAM01

There is role management feature in Report Server.

Top right corner manage=>security, and you may add role to specific group or user.

Which type of changes do you mean?

Only users with appropriate rights can modifi report.

When you open and viewing report, it is openned current definition of report assocciated with current data model in SSAS cache. It depends on report type, in case of PBI report in import mode, if anybody (who have appropriate permissions) or anything modifies report (definition or data), you are still using your definition and your version of data model in cache (until report is reopened). Next user who open and viewing report will open new (modified) definiton associated with another version of datamodel in SSAS cache. SSAS cache can hold multiple versions of data model of same report for limited time (depends on if is still in use, and on some expiring rules).
