For some strange reason, I can connect to 12c Oracle databases, but when attempting to connect to 11g instances using a PBIRS data source definition, the credentials always fail. The TNS entries are correct and I can build a connection to the database fine, so the drivers are able to connect to the database acrsoss the network... Unfortunately, though, it seems to mangle the password in some way. My username is being sent properly, because it ended up locking my account on the database side after a few attempts. I'm sure the password was correct as well. Even attempted to use different passwords to circumvent any sort of special character issues.
Oddly, when using command line on the server running PBIRS, I can use sqlplus to connect to the database without any issue. I have used both the external credential wallet as well as manually typing the username and password. In both cases, I'm able to connect with SQLPlus and when creating and ODBC connection on the server itself. However, when trying to use the drivers utilized by PBIRS to connect my credentials are being passed incorrectly.
Any tips?
Hi codecae,
Have you managed to fix this PBIRS Issue with 11g Oracle Database Credentials?
Thanks in advance for your reply
