OAuth authentication not available in on premises Power BI server

Hi All,

I have a power bi report uploaded on on-premises Power BI server with a data source as Sharepoint site hosted on cloud. The report works fine in PowerBI Desktop and Power BI Online Service, however fails to connect the data source (i.e. sharepoint site on cloud) when uploded on on-prem Power BI server. One of the reasons identified is the authentication type. In case of on-prem Power BI server we have only Anonymous and Windows Authentication available which does not work with Sharepoint on cloud.

Is there a way to connect Sharepoint site hosted on cloud from reports uploaded on on-prem Power BI Server?

Unfortunately no. Sharepoint online lists are listed here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/data-sources as not being supported for refresh or live connect when using Report Server on-prem. You would either need to look to publish your report in the service or to copy the data to a source that is supported (like an on-prem SQL Server table)
