NEED HELP

HI ,

I need Help,

 

I new in Power BI world.

please I want to import SSAS Database, but  i can't

and what is the diffreent in imort and connect  live 

in the  image bellow,  I have ssas database with name  first, I want to import it  into  power BI.

    Hi Anonymous,

     

    There are differences between importing and connecting live to the SSAS database.

     

    When connecting to live, no data from the Tabular model is imported into Power BI Desktop. Each time you interact with a visualization, Power BI Desktop queries the Tabular model and calculates the results you see. So it runs quickly and just the pbix file is holding about 300 MB.

    When you connect with import model, all the items you selected like tables, columns, and measures in your Tabular model or perspective will be loaded into a Power BI Desktop model. So RAM usage on the server will steadily tick up.

      thanks Anonymous for  your  answer,

       

      can  you  tell me  , f  impsible  to connect  local server  in ssas  database in  power BI  , I try to do  that  but  I can't.

      kindly tell me what is the error  in the bellow  image  

      Note:  the  server  is  local  with name   :  " . "

        The message is pretty self explanatory. Looking at the screenshot from further up the topic you are Running SQL Server 2012 RTM.

         

        To use Live Query you will need to update your SQL Server 2012 install. I assume its because of the need to support DAX/MDX queries that use certain functions and or some method of exposing the meta data that is in the cube.
