Matrix visual layout availible?
Hi All,
Does anyone know whether the "new" Matrix layout presets or the “repeat row headers” feature are available in Power BI Desktop optimized for Report Server yet?
Hi Anonymous,
yes. If you use the current Power BI Desktop optimized for Report Server that ships with the May 2025 PBIRS release, you will see the new Matrix layout presets and the Repeat row headers option. Those features were added in the May 2024 Desktop release and are included in the matching Desktop for Report Server build.
1) Update to the matching PBIRS and Desktop for RS. Download or verify your build from Microsoft here: Download Power BI Report Server.
2) In Desktop for RS, select your Matrix visual, open Format, expand Layout and style presets, set Layout to Outline or Tabular, then turn on Repeat row headers. Microsoft introduced these in the May 2024 feature wave: Power BI May 2024 Feature Summary. If you found this helpful, consider giving some Kudos. If I answered your question or solved your problem, mark this post as the solution.
