Mass Filter Upload

Hi all.
I have a cohort of users who use a report I built that contains milliosn of rows of data.
This data is based on transactions and accounts.
When using Tableau they have been able to copy and paste a list of transactiosn into the transaction filter with no issues.
i can't seem to be able to mirro this action on power bi without havign to create excel sharepoints etc--this is not a good use of their time as they need to act quickly when provided with a list of transactions.
Has anyone found a way to do this with Power BI?
Thanks
Greg

Thanks for lbendlin and rohit1991's concern about this issue.

Hi, @GREGBLACK

I am glad to help you.

Since you didn't give me some data to test, I assumed some data myself:

There's a custom visual called "Mass Filter" available on AppSource. This visual allows you to copy and paste a list of values (separated by commas or new lines) directly into the filter:

You can also use a custom visual recommended by lbendlin : Filter by List Visual

I hope the above methods can help you!

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Thaanks v-fenling-msft.
I did stumble across this Mass Filter over the weekend myself and it seems to be fit for purpose.
Thanks again

Solution: Dynamic Filtering via a Parameter Table

  1. Enable User Input for Filtering: Once loaded, the table will appear in your fields pane. Go to the Data View, and manually add or modify transaction IDs as needed.

  2. Create a Relationship: Connect the TransactionID_Input table to your main data table: Drag the TransactionID_Input field to the TransactionID field in the transaction table.Set the relationship to "Many-to-One" and Single Direction.

  3. Filter Visualization or Report: Use the TransactionID_Input as a slicer or in the filter pane to allow filtering.
