MS Report Builder "Report Part Gallery" endless spinner

Hi Team,

We have several problems with the last two versions of the MS Report Builder (not the PBI Report Builder).
Today I found that I can't use the existing report parts from the gallery. Items are visible but when I hover over them, they just show an endless spinner that never stops.
Please investigate this issue.

Best regards

That sounds like a bug. For issues like that you are better off creating a support ticket so the engineering team can capture more details.

Me and my team have the same issue across all our computers, so not local to the machine, it's on 15.1.20318.47, previous versions work.

Hi, it works with the previous versions of course, so I downgraded the Report Builder. The problem is still there, I open an other ticket for the developers.

Hi @zaltperg

You're experiencing issues with the latest versions of Microsoft Report Builder (distinct from Power BI Report Builder), specifically with the functionality related to using existing report parts from the gallery. Although the report parts are visible in the gallery, attempting to interact with them—such as by hovering—results in an endless loading spinner that never completes, effectively preventing you from reusing those components in your reports. This issue seems to have appeared in the most recent updates of Report Builder and may indicate a regression or service-side problem, particularly with how the tool is fetching or rendering metadata from the Report Part Gallery. It could also be related to permission or caching issues, especially if your environment relies on SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) hosted in a shared or restricted network environment. At this stage, you should check for known issues or patches related to your version of Report Builder on the Microsoft support or release notes pages. Additionally, try testing with an earlier version of Report Builder if available, or accessing the gallery from a different machine to rule out local environmental causes. Reporting this behavior via Microsoft support is also advisable to determine if this is a broader service-side issue or a bug introduced in the recent builds.
