Live updates to embedded dashboard

I have a dashboard connected to a SQL server. That report updates everytime it is opened with new data from the server. I am going to embed this on a Sharepoint site. How can I have the report update on the Sharepoint site any time data is updated on the SQL server? Data is updaed frequently. If I can't do that, will a scheduled refresh work to have it update daily? I would like to have this automated so I don't have to manually republish the report on the site daily.
