I have a PBI live data chart embedded in a PowerPoint showing monthly info.
Originally the chart would update itself adding new months as available, but has stopped now that it has reached 13 months of data.
How can I edit the chart to have it keep adding more data?
Thanks for replying @lbendlin
No scrollbars have appeared on the chart. I've attempted to click and drag the chart data but that just moves the overall chart position on the PowerPoint slide.
same for the chart visual in Power BI?
Yes. In PBI the chart visual has no scroll bar, shows all available months and adjusts overall size to fit the new data.
I'm assuming the problem is the way the chart as been embedded or put in the PowerPoint file?
yes, the chart meta data is frozen at the point in time when the chart is embedded in PowerPoint. Meaning any meta data changes in the report will not reflect in PowerPoint until you remove and re-add the chart into PowerPoint.
Your change is not a meta data change per se (unless the change in the X axis density counts).
Can you do an experiment and delete and re-add the chart in PowerPoint?
I've deleted and re-added the chart in PowerPoint, but won't know if that solves the issue until next month when the new lot of data comes in....
Has it truly stopped updating or is the new data hidden behind a horizontal scrollbar?
