Is there an SSAS dependency for Report Server?
I notice that the Report Server Preview in the Azure Marketplace includes SSAS. Is that a requirement for an on-prem installation?
No, I do not believe that SSAS is a requirement to install Power BI Report Server. I believe that when it was first released, that was one of the few data connectors it supported but it has evolved since then.
