Is SQL server mandatory to install Power BI reporting server ?

Hi everyone ,

I'm trying to install "Power BI reporting server (ON premises)" , however during the installation I can see its required to install SQL server , so my question is , is SQL server mandatory for "Power BI reporting server on premises" installation ?

my company is using Oracle database , and we don't have plan to migrate to other DB .

does Power BI  reporting server  require install SQL server only for (operational purpose) ? and later you can connect to other database ?

Exactly. SQL Server is needed to run the Report Server. But you can connect to a multitude of data sources after the installation.
