Other users have experienced similar issues, and most of the solutions are solved by reinstalling Power BI desktop.
There are two ways you can try to reinstall:
1. Download it through the official websiteDownload Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

What version of Power BI Desktop do you have installed?
Try to install the newest version (again) and then to edit the report again
